Drift With Me

A flood sweeps us out to sea.
Our only way for swimming back’s
the one that took us out.
Rest, my love, and drift with me.
Come morning, they’ll send us out a boat.

The downpour kicks into a black tide.
Nothing else is there past what we can see
no farther out than we can reach.
Peace, my love, to how hard you’ve tried.
Sleep, and I’ll keep close watch.
